I have a, currently, captive mime in water. It does get completely invisible BUT when turning the corner does convert to the node next. Whether this is intended or not is another issue. ;)
3 screenshots: 1 to show nothing, 1 to prove there is something in there ;D, and one showing the corner which may be similar to what Bla found.
(or not?! Server responding with 0 code)
Pic 3: corner visible
Pic 1: invisible
(upload works but not drop)
this might just be due to the way minetest handles transparent/translucent textures (which is, poorly).
see
8c29c4f620/doc/lua_api.txt (L7593-L7597)
:nope, more similar to the obsidian glass mime from #2474.
top side had the chest top texture instead of the glass.
all other sides invisible instead of the "no texture"
We shoudl re-test with 5.6.0, they changed something about the textures.
i believe #2474 is a different issue
partially fixed this via

- a mime pretending to be something opaque will be visible in water. however, a mime pretending to be something transparent will not be. a mime pretending to be something transparent, while partially in the water, will be partially invisible and partially visible.Just encountered another one and took a screenshot for documentation this time.
