runs has responded that this is intentional, otherwise penguins would just lay eggs on the ground and gradually overrun everything.
They're not intended to hatch? Then ... how do we breed penguins? Or is that yet another different mechanic nooen understands without reading the code? ugh/petz very fitting.
they don't have a reproduction mechanism. in that respect, they're like most of the other petz. only a handful can be bred or lay eggs.
