This is more a question of balancing than of technic.

I'd rule: Farming is already very easy and effortless compared to the impact it is meant to have on the game. No, sorry. We already have the mithril scythe which next to automates farming. There won't be any more farming automations. If you wish to not be bothered by farming, you may want to concentrate on other parts of the game and buy your food from the spoils of those other parts.
