Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?

part of this issue seems to be that gazers don't take suffocation damage, possibly to protect them from their own poison gas nodes.
Yes, that's because mobs spawn in the vicinity of the player and I don't properly check they're in air. So if your client is noclipped below ground, they get spawned "nearby"
