Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?

that is a pretty cool idea, I second that or at least a trial run of it! If we see it has disastrous side effects, we can remove it again.
we do that on blocky, it did reduce the amount of complaints. players on blocky also start w/ an area protector, though we don't have those on yl. perhaps some markers instead?

While I'd not be happy if we gave a beginner real valuables, we could make it that players can obtain a locked chest in the tutorial.
I wouldnt call 1 locked chest that they could craft from 8 wood + copper/steel a real valuable 😉
Maybe not "valuable" to us, but a new player may find it a good idea to make themselves a bazillion second accounts and then sell the chests. To us this sounds plenty ridiculous of course ;)
Then again, same could be said about the triple mega sandwich, but at least this one can be made with a bit of effort from Public Farm stuff.
Sure, the wood can also be obtained from the public wood farm, and in comparison to the 5 steel ingots for the cart (which is also in the starter pack), a single ingot is not too much more.
Another aspect: This might lead to the sudden appearance of locked chests in the Public (Wood) Farm and those littered around in the regions around Haven.
No new ideas have surfaced and I'd rather not add this unless compelling reasons force us to.
