Hiho Styxcolor, thank you for the answer as ingame mail.
I hope its ok if I qoute a bit of it here
I think you misread my initial report a bit.
/msg
are totally fine to receive but/me
messages written by players in public channel shouldn´t appear in a different channel.Receiving normal messages from the public channel no matter in which channel you are might be a staff thing.
Because I didn´t receive any player send normal chat from the public channel as I expected only
/me
messages.Normal messages send by staff might need some fine tuning because I still received normal messages send by Alias in the public channel and my guess is that would also applies to other staff members.
I understand that it makes sense that staff can send messages to everyone regardless in which channel they are but it shouldn´t be the default setting for every message send by staff.
For example staff greeting/welcoming players or staff running an event in public channel.
Especially at events the public chat gets crowded and conversations outside the event theme basicly cease because it gets hard to follow. By joining a different channel you would currently get rid of player messages(except /me) but not messages send by staff regarding the event.
This is a dupe of #473, closing.
