I had this too yesterday and thought it was lag.
interesting, might have a connection to #21
repeating from #1112:
question for tour and xonon: were you spamming the button, or holding it down? the game doesn't register button presses, only whether the button is pressed. with lag, this can mean that the checks aren't performed unless you hold down the button. if you were spamming it, as i assume, this is a low-level engine bug that we can't fix. there might be a way to improve the user interface though, by implementing what is suggested in #344.
I changed the wording on the "how to stop" message. It now reads
