Ya, being forced to turn off sound while mining because of the racket this now makes is dangerous cuz then you can't hear monsters... just a ridiculous amount of noise to use while mining.
Let's create a second lava pick that doesn't have sounds. Let's make it that one lava pick crafts into the other.
Name it "Lava Pickaxe (Muted)"
Bingo asked Tenplus1 to lower the sound. We'll follow upstream if that solves the problem:
Would be nice. In the beginning, the new effect is still funny, but after a while it just gets annoying.

As Alias suggested, putting pick into the grid switches it to a silent version.
