this seems to be more about adding a node (maybe a citronella candle?) that will keep mosquitos at bay, sort of like how the shark buoy is supposed to keep sharks away.

What's so bad about mosquitos?

We also could disable mosquitos right away, remove what's so bad about them (the damage?) or tune down their time of life.

Or implement a citronella candle, which devtime-wise and most likely also lagwise the most expensive solution.
