BibaBoss reports a bug:

The abusing of mod power to jail players for nothing. I was defending myself and. On the other hand the mods did not stop the toxic player and he twice insulted me. "Piece of toxic crap", "get bent, asshole". Wasnt that enough to mute player and enforce mute? And why I am now beaing jailed for nothing. Disrupting community? Was that realy me? The "bug" is abusing of mod powers while igonring the real threat.

Non-Bug, not issue.

Staff, acted within scope.
Continueing an argument after the fact is probably the jailing.

Peace and serenity prefered.
Bailiffs volunteer so we're even more likely to give timeouts to such to everyone..

When this icident was happening I read through the whole chat log to get a grasp of the whole situation. Eventhough I am not Bailiff my point of view on this might be interesting from a pure player perspective.

Both players did not act excellent. Yes, niceride/shadow insulted BibaBoba and I think Staff or Bailiff should have interfered on that much quicker. It could have avoided a lot of the following conflict. BUT BibaBoba did not only defend themself as they are claiming. They continued rubbing it in niceride's face that they have a balrog whip now (see: https://discord.com/channels/634941856719044629/710035074497642587/1110869727871504456 and https://discord.com/channels/634941856719044629/710035074497642587/1110871208406286506), which is not only not excellent but also an escalating and toxic behaviour. Other than that they told niceride that their opinion doesn't matter (see: https://discord.com/channels/634941856719044629/710035074497642587/1110869479170248714), which is not true. Just because someone's opinion is different than yours, it doesn't make theirs invalid.
Another thing that I noticed is, after niceride was sent to jail and continued talking through IRC, they admitted that they weren't talking appropriate in the discussion. They reaslized that something went wrong but when that happenend BibaBoba again stirred the topic up and couldn't tell the difference between admitting ones error and stirring a topic up (aka niceride did first but BibaBoba saw latter in it).

I do understand that one has the urge to defend themself but this behaviour clearly was more than just defense and I think that should be taken into consideration.

Other than that, when it comes to their behavior, both were in the wrong.

EDIT: So regarding the original purpose of this bugreport: Azelf did not abuse their power as Bailiff in any way. I'd rather say they used it too late when it comes to BibaBoba.

Jaling restricts all player activites, while mute only restricts chat. So there could be mute, but not jail.

And if you, as Bailif, continuing discussion about topic with the one who abusing in the main chat and then forcing shutting mouth of victim that's not good.

So you don't discuss things in main chat if you don't want others to participate and you would definitely, as a normal player, wouldn't have ability to jail someone just because you don't want them to participate!

Considering "rubbing". Defense is not only when you accepting punches silently from the abuser, but also actively give punches, because yes, I haven't started it and I am 99% of time is silent and had the right to defend to some extent. I was even very soft in choosing words. You can compare: "get bent, a#####e" VS "come see my balrog whip". What an abuser I am inviting to showing my whip, aren't me?

So the question is why the abuser was freely talking while me, after like 10 minutes of actual silence, was jailed.

Not, if giving actively punches escalates the situation even more. That's no longer defense then because you are not getting yourself out of the situation but even further in instead.

I appreciate the input but this should have been a report. We need some time to sort out the situation, who said what and we'll hand out verdicts if any to the people involved.
