Ofc we could disable placing blocks there, but there may be usecases when we want to keep the ability to place anything there. Ofc its still mainly meant for trees.

Ability to place anything may be useful to build temporary tower to chop away a floater (although with the kind of trees there, those are small and any floaters can be reached by a mere jump. Likely even without crystal boots :)

I have noticed that ability to place any block does work also on "plant your favorite crop" field (I was able to place and then remove a cobblestone block there). Does not work on other fields, as those are restricted to a specific plant.

THe issue is that this also includes blocks like shared chests, where if placed by uncooperative players can only be removed with admin interference

There is list of forbidden tree species (mostly too large trees) that cannot be placed there. That list includes also portal stones (somebody tried to open a portal from there? :) ... so maybe just extend that list with shared chests, locked doors and other problematic stuff?

i think we used to already block placement of anything that wasn't a sapling, but i accidentally killed that when i resized the tree farm at one point? we should go back to what it was before. i can't find the issue(s).
