mr_block reports a bug:

The slot your hand is selected stays the same ven if you set the hotbar below what the HUD displays. How to recreate: set your hotbar to a number more than the default and select that slot in the hotbar. Then, set your hotbar to the default size without selecting a different slot. Your hand will still display the item that was in the original slot (which you can't see now, because it is smaller size).
