I like it more when they're creatures made out of flesh. Just a diffrent...species, living mostly underground, and carrying with them what is present in their environment and valuable to them (cobble, ores).

Placing bones would be problematic during a voice attack. There are usually so many mobs working for Voice that the aera would be littered with bones, making it impossible for players to reach some places or find their own bones (even if colored).

Dropped cobble etc. isn't ideal either as it adds further entities to the scene. Which is bad when there's a lot of lag and too many entities already. Perhaps they could stop dropping cobble? We aren't exactly short of cobble, and that'd at least reduce the number of entities a bit.

They do. Think on the skeletons. I am happy, that they don't come to often by Voice.

May by the once dropped cobble can be gone faster? The better items are a good chance to get some little payment for the battle risks. But Smalls and Mikros should give something better as sand stones, like normal land guard (why this?) give very often. May be a special sapling, only could taken this way in the game?

i was thinking earlier that perhaps the different levels of voice troops should get reskins w/ different stones from darkage. scouts would remain looking like cobble, but fighters might be basalt and elite might be gneiss.

if we're thinking about mobs similar to stone monsters that drop bones, we could create "ivory monsters".

Problem is: The spies have their own skins. But after beeing serialized and loaded again, their skin is broken. Originally the spies had that cute skin with short trousers and a cap - both either in red or green. After a reload they look red/white and very chaotic.

Ivory monsters...hm. Aren't elephants that already, kind of? :-) Except that they're no monsters.

that's the "stone monster from desert stone biomes" texture. any stone monster that spawns/reloads near desert stone gets that skin.
