No, because there was grass and flowers near the fence and it couldn't have replace the existing plants with watermelon or pumpkin.

I had placed "rune 2 protection" and tagged it as "flower cow 2", maybe it may help to check in logs

(Also recently I placed a new flower cow, so don't be confused, its not the same one which got dissapeared.)

i've verified that a flower cow w/ both protection runes will still die if it's "trapped in a wall", possibly that happened somehow.
