with one mulch in hand i use it on a date palm sapling and instead of see the tree grow i have the sapling in my hand

i'm able to consistently replicate this w/ a moretrees beech.

cf. #2214

the weirdest part of this is that the mulch isn't consumed most of the time when you click. need to do some testing w/ a reduced mod set.

this doesn't happen w/ a reduced mod set, so the source is likely to be integration code.

will open a new bug about bonemeal items not being consumed until they are "successful", which is a separate issue.
