we shouldn't take this inconsistency in stride, but i don't want to say that we need to change anything.
the three main possible options:
I'd very much prefer leafing (hehe) things as they are. I think that having different types of leaves allows builders to take advantage of different draw styles. And since it's mostly visual thing, it won't interfere with system - recipes, etc. Exspecially considering biodiversity lost in farming:+cucina: merger.
Yes. I often used leaves for hedges or in buildings, on the one hand to get through somewhere camouflaged and on the other hand to lock off something good-looking. Hedges are important to keep the hordes away from Voice without building ugly walls.
While I dislike this inconsistency as well, as long as there is no way of telling for a player which leaves are walkable and which aren't, we need to leave things as they are.
seems like the consensus is to keep things as they are.
From a discussion with a player, who also wasn't happy about the current confusing state:
How about we make the block-like leaves walkable and solid and the plantlike leaves passthrough?
How about we make all leaves passthrough but climbable?
I personally like the idea of (2), but cannot foresee the implications.
isn't that how things are currently?
this would certainly lead to players using leaves as scaffolding, though i'm not sure that's a bad thing. i've played on servers which had such a mechanic.
the discussion above seemed to indicate players rely on some leaves being solid, so we probably shouldn't changed those. i'm not sure anything would break if we turned the pass-through leaves into climbable nodes, we should ask players though.
