I strongly disagree with that. Cucina Vegana Textures are just not well made and imo do not fit into the overall Minetest Look
its not just another texture.
plants got unified, if you got a cucina carrot before the change well its now a farming carrot.
whatever style you like before that change you had the choice, not anymore.
too bad if you liked the cucina style or spend time to collect all the different plants no matter the mod or have machines designed to work with the one that wont work with the other. you are now forced to the farming ones
Well, okay then that's a change I'm not a fan of tbh. Eventhough I don't like the cucina vegana textures it's not a fair decision to just get rid of half of the crops by unifying them. Someone mentioned that for example all the time that was spent on finding these special crops was wasted time now.
It would make more sense to turn duplicated crops into two different kinds instead of unifying. So for example one potato kind would stay and the other would become a sweet potato. That way some of the recipes could also be changed, so that some only work with one version and one with the other so that it actually makes sense to have two different kinds.
Textures are taste. To me they are nice to you JeCel not. That's ok. But now this world is like the real ones a bit poorer. Diversity ingame is some kind of the fun beside its impact in real world. Lesser health due to unbalanced diet. I think thats worth to bring it also towards a game. Beside that i really like the cucina_mod. Veggie even if i'm not a veggie.
Some machines are now useless yes but i dont care about such things i do handword and thats ok. Less time for building nice buildings but thats the way it is.
Yeah i wasted much time to gather all the plants. And now. Now flowercows spread them all on the pasture. But this is another bug (3034). And now my fields are more unified. To me its a loss.
Turning one potatoe to a sweet potatoe ... i like the idea. Doing that for all the lost plants sounds good.
To me its not good to turn that much things to a simpler solution only because ppl have problems with it. They should learn to solve "complex" problems. As they do with the mese stuff.

Any texture changes without code should go to https://gitea.your-land.de/your-land/yl_texturepack , unless this is a "by userchoice" thing.
In this case - to avoid further upheavel - we should ask the people which one they prefer as default and therefore should go to yl_texturepack
the problem here wasn't so much that textures were overriden (though one or two were), but that there were 2 or more distinct nodes w/ distinct textures, and i arbitrarily chose to override one node w/ the other.
that's my fault, but
probably this can be closed? i haven't heard any new complaints, and the texture pack exists.
With the existence of the texture pack we can consider this fixed.
We could also count this is as "wontfix", because we do not want to bring back duplications
