daydream reports a bug:

caught snakes are never tame - they still bite, unlike every other animal? IDK just seemed a bit surprising to me

Also can't put down inside, on dry grass or anything else. Can put down outside, where it proceeds to bite like it's never been caught. Very likely intentional but it might be cool if they tamed and didn't bite their owner at least.

water_life has no taming mechanism, though you can't capture most of the mobs from it.
