alexandre2005 reports a bug:

when u have full inv and clic on steel canonball, not digging, but clicking removing one at a time, they dont drop they disapear into the unknown.

this sounds very weird, either it's in the mod or it could be an upstream problem.

This is most likely because the cannonball mod doesn't check whether InvRef:add_item() returns any leftovers. This is an incredibly common "anti-pattern" in minetest mods.
